Brno String Trio:
Pavel Wallinger violin, Jan Vašta violin, Karel Plocek viola
Only three pieces for string trio (two violins and viola) can be found in the work of famous Czech composers Antonín Dvořák (1841-1904) and Bohuslav Martinů (1890-1959). Such formation is relatively rare and it is no wonder that also a number of original compositions for string trio is small in general. In spite of being less renowned, all these pieces are of the highest artistic quality, and form the inalienable part of Dvořák´s and Martinů's work.
Brno string trio was estabilished in 1994 by young talented musicians, members of the State Philharmonic Orchestra in Brno. They are interested in exploring artistic possibilities of the string trio and promoting its relatively unknown repertoire.
